David
Head of Infrastructure, Snacks & "Sure, I Can Do That"
David is an IT professional with more than 20 years of experience supporting internet infrastructure, nonprofit organizations, and mission-driven teams. Originally from Puerto Rico, he began his career at a public university, transitioning from student to staff while completing his bachelor's degree. During this time, he worked in systems administration and network engineering, later taking responsibility for the full technical operation of a country-code top-level domain. In that role, he supported infrastructure, systems, and web applications as the primary technical resource.
In 2007, David joined a global organization responsible for coordinating key internet resources. As part of the network engineering team, he worked on the design, deployment, and operation of core infrastructure services, including networking, security systems, authentication, virtualization platforms, and multi-site environments. His responsibilities included supporting a root DNS server, contributing to IPv6 adoption, Anycast deployments, and early DNS monitoring efforts. As DNS operations expanded globally, he moved into a DNS engineering role, supporting large-scale deployments with instances distributed worldwide. He later worked in an architecture-focused role, providing technical guidance and cross-team support across DNS, network engineering, and internal technology initiatives.
After more than 16 years in that environment, David explored a management role in the private sector with a cloud infrastructure company. While the experience offered perspective on for-profit operations and leadership, it clarified where he is most effective: hands-on technical work, improving processes, and supporting teams that value clarity, accountability, and practical outcomes. Today, he brings that approach to every engagement—focused on reliable solutions, straightforward communication, and long-term sustainability.
"If it needs fixing, building, reviewing, or untangling, it eventually ends up here."
A Little More About My Life With Dogs🐾
I'm relatively new to dog ownership — and I didn't ease into it 😅. I started with three sibling yellow Labradors at just 12 weeks old, and about six months later, I added their dad to the pack. Yes… chaos, love, and a lot of fur.
I also foster with Rovers Return Dog Rescue, which has been incredibly rewarding and eye-opening. Seeing firsthand what rescues deal with every day is a big part of why I'm so passionate about supporting them through technology.
My boys are my everything. They're very loved, very spoiled, and probably run the house more than I do — but I wouldn't have it any other way.
